Our commercial department is headed by Julian Mallinson, who is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Mr Mallinson has over 12 years experience in commercial property within the Island, having previously been employed as a surveyor in the City of London.

Property valuations require accurate market knowledge, professional competence, objectivity and independence. Our valuations are undertaken in accordance with the Appraisal and Valuation Standards published by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

We regularly undertake valuations on the behalf of banks and building societies for secured lending purposes as well as valuations for acquisition and disposal purposes on behalf of both private and corporate clients.

We provide strategic advice to evaluate the development/investment best suited to market conditions.

We are able to prepare investment and development appraisals to determine profitability and residual values before site acquisition or building refurbishment using our extensive database.

We represent both landlords and tenants in determining the rental of a property for rent review and lease renewal purposes and negotiate on their behalf.

Although out aim is to settle rent reviews on the most cost effective and favourable terms for our clients without referral to a third party for determination, should this not be possible we will represent our client in any Arbitration or Independent Expert proceedings.

Mr Mallinson is also qualified to act as an Arbitrator or an Independent Expert to determine rental disputes between third parties.
